We have several positions for a volunteer in operations in Thailand. As a small organization with varying projects and volunteers, we rely on organized, communicative professionals to ensure that things get done.
Position: Volunteer Manager
Bringing it all Together Many of our programs are implemented and managed by international volunteers. Warm Heart depends on the drive and energy of these people to work in our community to create a positive impact. Though the majority of our staff is Thai, at any given time we host between 8 and 12 volunteers from around the world that work in education, microenterprise, public health, or, more often than not, across all three. |
Position Overview
Warm Heart seeks a charismatic and self-starting Volunteer Manager to serve as the primary link between the management team and our volunteers – onboarding new volunteers, addressing volunteer issues/concerns, and implementing ongoing program improvements.

Primary Responsibilities
● Manage volunteer recruitment.
● Communicate with prospective and new volunteers, ensuring any questions or concerns are answered in a timely manner.
● Orient new volunteers upon arrival.
● Collaborate with Thai staff to manage housing, transportation, documentation(visas, work permits, etc.) and excursions.
● Update and maintain all volunteer-related documents such as job descriptions, job postings, orientation materials, and volunteer publications.
● Assist with other projects, as assigned (e.g. all volunteers are required to teach English for 2 hours of each week.)
Experience/Skills● Strong interpersonal skills as well as written communication skills.
● Detail-oriented and organized.
● Experience in logistics and management is a big plus (i.e. camp counselor, RA, event planning, PR, HR, etc.).
● Conversationally fluent in English

Warm Heart is a grassroots organization that empowers rural Thai villagers. Working with the community, Warm Heart organizes projects that improve access to education, basic health services, jobs and sustainable incomes to the poorest people in the Phrao District of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Our efforts are vast in breadth and depth. From feeding and housing 45 Hill Tribe children to doing home visits to attend to the needs of the elderly and disabled, Warm Heart addresses our community’s problems with a multi-faceted approach.
Working with our Thai staff, volunteers from around the world, and partner organizations near and far, communication is key.
Position Overview
Warm Heart seeks a goal-oriented Project Manager to act as liaison between management and an international volunteer base, as well as to delegate, manage, and document projects.
Primary Responsibilities
● Supervise and coordinate with all in-country volunteers.
● Collaborate with Thai staff and volunteers to maximize efficiency.
● Organize and manage day-to-day projects and delegate responsibilities amongst volunteers.
● Communicate between management and volunteers, including facilitating weekly meeting with all volunteers and management.
● Check-in periodically with project teams to ensure appropriate resources are available and to troubleshoot problems.
● Assist with other projects, as assigned (e.g. volunteers are required to teach English for 2 hours of each week).
Experience/Skills
● Proven ability to delegate and manage work.
● A driven, organized, and results-oriented approach.
● Highly organized and a good multi-tasker.

With a variety of projects comes a variety of expenses, inventories, and revenues. Warm Heart, however, is dedicated to our goal of organizational and financial sustainability.
We aim to generate enough revenue through our various microenterprise projects to maintain our organization’s activities while creating sustainable jobs and incomes for residents of our district.
These projects include our fashion accessories line of hand woven scarves, hand crafted bracelets and handmade bags and laptop cases created from recycled materials.

Primary Responsibilities
● Track inventory, expenses, and profits.
● Prepare reports on a timely basis.
● Analyze our current accounting and inventory system and suggest improvements and modifications to achieve greater efficiency
● Assist with other projects, as assigned (e.g. all volunteers are required to teach English for 2 hours of each week.)

● Previous experience with Quickbooks or a similar accounting and inventory software
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Making Sense of it All
With such a diverse portfolio of projects it is important to effectively present our work to our wide and varying community. We currently rely on donations and volunteers from around the world to support our endeavors.
We work with other organizations and companies to put together major projects that create a lasting impact for the people of Phrao. And all of our activities are community-sponsored meaning our impact must be tracked and publicized in a reliable and understandable way. Nothing makes such communications more compelling than clear, verifiable data.
In addition to effective communication for the Warm Heart Foundation, we also work with local artisans to improve the sales and marketing of their products. We provide design, business and marketing assistance to women’s cooperatives in Phrao in order to sell their products on both the Thai and international markets. Without accurate production, cost, sales and market data, as well as creative analysis, such efforts are impossible.

Warm Heart seeks an organized and detail-oriented Data Analyst and Technician to develop an effective data infrastructure that both protects the integrity of the data and utilizes data to further Warm Heart’s mission.
Primary Responsibilities
● Manage the collection, storage, and analysis of data, including, but not limited to donors, elderly and persons with disabilities, and partner organizations.
● Develop thoughtful and thorough surveys.
● Provide intelligent analyses of collected data.
● Organize data into effective and impactful presentations.
● Assist with other projects, as assigned (e.g. all volunteers are required to teach English for 2 hours of each week.)
Experience/Skills
● Strong background in survey research, research design and methods, data analysis and analytic tools (SPSS, etc.).
● Strong PR background- experience implementing high-level communications strategies to successfully execute its plan.
● Interest in promoting sustainable development.
● Management experience.
● Ability to think creatively and function in a diverse workplace.
● Conversationally fluent in English.
