July 2024

Sweet Sixteen Party - A Successful Event!

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our 16th Anniversary Celebration! If you were not able to join us, here is a recap of how the evening went.
We had a total of 88 attendees, which was a 100% turnout!

We began the evening with our buffet dinner while Big Gulp, a local band, performed a few songs. We had a slideshow running throughout dinner with photos from the past 16 years, (see below)
Our presentation was divided into 4 sections.
Our first presentation was based on the kids and their accomplishments. We shared this video of the kids that were away and could not attend.
Following the video Evelind introduced all of our kids in attendance, and shared what they are doing now.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to community members and groups that have supported Warm Heart over the past 16 years:

   -Marisa and Glom Immersive  Theater
  - Matt Rickard and Footsteps for Good
  -
 Brian Pern
  - Randy Reardon
 - Ron West and Tat

Our second presentation began with a video.
Following the video Michael and Matt Rickard (COO of Biochar Life) talked a little about Warm Heart's Stop the Smoke campaign, and how Biochar Life evolved from that campaign.
The following community groups were awarded Certificates of Appreciation for their enduring support of our Stop the Smoke and Biochar campaigns:
  - Gabriele Lombardi and Shangri-La
  - Anne Arrowsmith and 137 Pillars
  - Chris Lowenstein and  Living Films
  - Pim Kemasingki at City Life

Our third presentation was about our Access to Care program, Soda introduced our newest projects with a slide show.

Following Soda's presentation we acknowledged our strongest supporters of our Access to Care programs:

- The Brothers Trust for their support of the elder community
- Usar Suragarn and Glenn Pfaff and Payap Nursing School/ McCormick Hospital

Our last presentation was to thank and acknowledge the in depth contributions that have impacted Warm Heart and the community at large from these dedicated individuals.

We began with our Dit's Home to illustrate what a community can do when they come together:

We then presented short videos of the work these dedicated individuals of our our community and presented them with Certificates of Appreciation

 - John Schorr  and the Swim Safety Program
 - Peter Bell and his Children's Sight Project
 - Sallo Polak and Philanthropy Connections
Our last Certificate of Appreciation was given to the Chiang Mai Rotary Club as a whole, for all of the wonderful work they do in our community and the support they provide Warm Heart.
We ended the program with this last video.
Thanks to generous donations by Brian Pern for 3 Chinese paintings, an original watercolor by Amy Dapice, and a 6 Course Chef's Menu tasting for 2 from 137 Pillars, we were able to raise 63,766 baht ($1,774) for our Higher Education program!
Here are a few photos of the event taken by Steve Yarnold, our local photographer of community events
And finally, for those of you who would like to reminisce, here is our 30 minute Slideshow we shared during dinner.
Thank you all for helping to make this event possible!
